My role in this project was the visual role. It was a challenge to represent our chosen statistic respectfully in terms of culture. I feel very passionate about this statistic and the power of nutrition.
Below is a timeline of how my partner and I were going to achieve this project. This helped with staying on track and prioritizing. It had to get changed and altered as somethings took longer or quicker than expected.
How to solve this issue?
The answer is to get the right food to these children and pregnant women. The way we found this could be achieved is through donations. There are organizations that encourage donations and ways you can share your food. Organizations like Share a Meal and World vision.
In these first initial sketches, the aim was to show what donations could achieve.

I became attached to this idea of showing how the child's life would change on the box the donations go in.
We then explored other ways this could be done. Trying food instead of money and having a child hold the box.
The aesthetic we wanted was simplistic, flat, and bold with neutral tones. It is pleasing to the eye and carries the emotion we intend for the project. The aim of the project is to encourage people to donate and the aesthetics contribute a big part to that.
With the sketches and aesthetics combine, this image was produced. The feedback we got from this image was it shows the aspects from the mood board successfully however, it got associated with the homeless people sitting on Auckland Queen street. Or though the emotion was there, we wanted to focus more on how the child's life can change with the power of nutrition through people's donations.
The images we wanted were about how the child's life would change. Wanted to show the child having a developed brain and muscles, engaging in school, and earing three times more the pay.
